Community School of the Bible (CSB) is an evening adult study program following the curriculum of the Lay Leadership Certificate Course of the Distance Education Division of Summit Pacific College (SPC) (WPBC), one of the accredited colleges of the PAOC. The course being offered in the Fall of 2010 is ‘Acts of the Apostles’. Click here to download the course outline.

CSB is the largest study group affiliated with this SPC Division. The courses are open to anyone wishing to deepen their understanding of the Word and be better equipped for His service. It is the objective of the courses that those completing them should be able to:

1. Understand the basic content, theme and message of each portion of the Bible;
2. Appreciate the doctrinal truths of Scripture and their relevance to Christian life and service;
3. Share Bible truth with others on both one-to-one and group bases;
4. Apply Bible principles to his or her personal life and also in the counselling of others;
5. Be informed concerning his or her spiritual roots;
6. Establish a commitment to lifelong learning, particularly in the pursuit of God's truth through His Word.

At CSB we welcome both students who take the courses for credit and those who prefer simply to audit. Credit students are required to complete one or more essays per course and one or two written examinations whereas audit students have no such requirements.

Both types of student however are expected to attend classes, usually Monday evenings, and complete the reading and question assignments. Essays and examinations are marked by SPC staff. Completion of assignments and class participation are designed to enrich the study process but do not count towards credit.

Twenty courses (60 credit hours) must be successfully completed for the Lay Leadership Certificate. Of these courses, sixteen are Required and four are Electives. Transfers of credit are possible to other PAOC colleges should the student wish to pursue additional formal studies.

Normally two courses are given per year in a fall and a winter term each lasting about ten to twelve weeks. It is never too late to join the program as the courses need not be taken in any particular order. New students are always welcome; anyone wishing more information should feel free to get in touch with This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
